At the Electrolysis & Laser Clinic we believe that movement on the face is natural and beautiful.
Inhibiting facial movement entirely, or over-treating areas can make your face look unusual.
Our practitioners are trained to respect that belief, and administer treatments that look both natural and pleasing.
At the Electrolysis & Laser Clinic, the most commonly requested areas are frown lines, crows feet and forehead.
Muscle relaxants can also be used to create a beautiful brow lift, minimise lines around the nose and mouth, smooth your chin, relax your jawline and neck bands, relieve migraine headaches and muscle spasms. Muscle relaxants can also treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).View Pricelist

Anti-wrinkle injections are made from a purified protein that temporarily causes facial muscles to relax, instantly softening lines and reducing the severity of visible wrinkles. The decreased movement in the muscle reduces stress on the skin giving you that fresh and youthful appearance, and is also an excellent preventative treatment in the war against premature ageing. No anesthesia or numbing is required to perform this very quick treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
A. Anti-Wrinkle products injected into the muscle will block the chemical signal which travels from the nerve ending to the muscle fibre telling it to contract. Without this chemical signal the muscle is unable to contract, and the skin attached to it does not scrunch, improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
A. Following your treatment, it may take 4 or 5 days before you will see noticeable changes. The muscle movement will then continue to decrease over the next few days to be fully effective.
A. Most clients never experience any side effects from Anti-Wrinkle injections. The most common side effect (which is also quite uncommon), is a slight headache, and usually only experienced on the first couple of treatments.
Minor skin reactions from the needle can occur such as: slight discomfort, tingling, itching, bruising, swelling or redness at the injection site. These reactions are all normal and resolve very quickly. Your practitioner will explain any risks prior to your treatment.
A. This can depend on many variables including health, age and skin condition. Wrinkles on younger clients are generally very light and can totally disappear, whilst those on an older client are likely to be much stronger. Their lines may still be visable but wont look as severe.
The anti-wrinkle treatment should reduce the muscle contraction and in doing so, improve the appearance of the lines. Repeated treatments and prolonged periods of reduced movement will allow the body to produce collagen and elastin that will slowly repair the lines.
A. Many first-time clients are fearful of having a ‘frozen’ face following their treatment, but this is not a realistic concern. Following a treatment, you will still be able to laugh, smile and frown, but there will be less wrinkling and scrunching of the skin in the area treated. You will still be able to show expression but will simply have a more refreshed appearance.

A. This will differ for each person and be dependent on many factors. Your practitioner will explain the aging process during your consultation and help identify treatment areas that can be considered, to help you achieve a rejuvenated and refreshed appearance.
A. Dermal fillers take up space under the skin and begin to expand the tissues immediately, therefore you will be able to see the effect as soon as the treatment is over. The final result, however, may take several weeks as the fillers slowly integrates into the tissues.
A. Longevity will differ for each person and can depend on many factors including the brand of filler, its strength, the area of treatment, as well as the depth in the tissues and the volume injected. Other factors that can affect longevity include a person’s metabolism as well as lifestyle factors including sun exposure, exercise, medication use and smoking.
Following your treatment, your practitioner will recommend when to consider having further treatments, to maintain the effect.
A. Dermal filler is a substance that naturally occurs in the body and for this reason it is usually well tolerated. Side effects are rare.
